Overnight parking permission may be granted on a nightly basis for residents with extenuating circumstances (e.g., your driveway is being paved, you have overnight guests with no room in your driveway, or your vehicle is mechanically disabled and cannot be moved from the roadway).

All requests for overnight parking permission will be processed by the on-duty Supervisor after 7:00PM. You will receive a confirmation or denial message to the email address provided once the request has been reviewed by the on-duty Supervisor. Your request is not considered “approved” until you receive this confirmation email. This online request system will not accept any requests for overnight parking permission after 2:00AM. Any request for overnight parking permission made after 2:00AM must be called in to the Police Department at (201) 568-5100.

Overnight parking permission will be DENIED when roadways are impacted by any type of frozen precipitation (i.e., snow, ice, sleet), when frozen precipitation is expected in the overnight forecast, and or when DPW plowing / salting operations are underway.

The Tenafly Police Department may also deny overnight parking requests due to roadway construction, abuse of the overnight parking permission process, or any other unforeseen occurrence that would make overnight on-street parking impractical and or dangerous.
